Pre-Season Open Tournaments
Currently there are 5 Fall Open Tournaments available.
The Elyria Open Tournament (Elyria, OH) on Oct. 2nd. The Kent State Open (Kent, OH) on Oct. 24th. The Cliff Keen Border Wars Nationals (Battle Creek, MI) on Nov. 6th. The Border War Nationals must be qualified for by placing in the top 4 at the Elyria Tournament. See Coach Moody for any further details.
The Local Open Tournaments are: Westerville North Early-Bird Tournament (Westerville North High School) on Oct. 16th. The Deleware Halloween Tournament (Deleware Hayes High School) on Oct. 30th.
In 2012-2013 Darby will move to the O.C.C. Cardinal Division
Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, Darby will move to the Cardinal Division of the O.C.C.. Other competing schools will be: Hilliard Bradley, Dublin Scioto, Dublin Jerome, Westerville North, Westerville South, Westerville Central, and Worthington Kilbourne.
2 Darby Wrestlers advance to the State Tournament
112lb Cameron Longwell and 160lb Tyler Bowens qualified for the State tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
7 Darby Wrestlers advance to the District Tour.
Hilliard Darby Wrestling Team advanced 7 wrestlers to the district tournament. Each District Qualifier accomplished their feat by placing in the top four in their respective weight class at the Westland Sectional Tournament.
Sectional finalists include: Cameron Longwell (2nd at 112lbs.), Tyler Bowens (2nd at 160lbs.), and Sufyan El-Geroushi (2nd at 215lbs.)
Other placers include: Trevor Simon (3rd at 119lbs.), Zach Jewell (3rd at 125lbs.), Drew Hite (3rd at 130lbs.), Devon Booth (4th at 103lbs.), and Wes Brown (6th at 152 lbs.)
