Gymnastics Season:       Runs from the first week of November to the first week of March.
 
Competition Level: There are all levels of competition- Basic Gymnastics training required -  But skills through level 9 and some level 10 can be competed.

Practices:    Practice times are split between one of the schools (this year will be Davidson) and Fliptastic! Gymnastics. Practice Times/Days TBD- usually practice between 4-5 days/week.  Practices run from 2-3 hours each day.

Meets:   There are approx. 11-14 meets per season- They consist of regular season  dual/tri/quad meets, Invitationals, OCC league meet, and the District meet- Qualifiers at the District meet would compete at the State Gymnastics Meet the 1st weekend of March.

Cost:  Each Gymnast must pay the School Participation fee-  There are also costs associated with leotards, warm-up leotards, and warm-ups.  We do have some fundraising activities to offset some of the costs. More detail will be given at the “Meet the team” meeting.

Fundraising: We will  hold a “Flip-a Thon” during the beginning of the season.  Other fundraising includes getting sponsorships for a team poster and selling sweatshirts at our Invitational.

Stat/Manager:  If you are not sure if competition is for you- we have stat/manager position available- this is an opportunity to still be involved- 3 years of being a  Stat earns a Varsity letter in that sport.

Conditioning:  We offer conditioning in the fall . This is not mandatory-  it is strongly encouraged, however, if you are not in a fall sport. Conditioning will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:45 starting October 4th.

Fun Activities:  Big Sis/Little Sis card and gift exchanges- Holiday party – Team Dinners –Sleepovers- End of Season Sleepover @ Fliptastic!- Pizza parties,  and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!!!

ALL PRACTICE TIMES/LOCATIONS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

MANDATORY PARENT/ATHLETE MEETING:  TBA

At least one parent and the athlete must be in attendance at this meeting to be eligible to compete.  We go over information that is important for the whole season- so we must have a parent and athlete present.

There are also parent meetings sponsored by each school that parents will need to attend if they have not done so already- Please refer to each school for those dates and times.

Conditioning: 

Begins Tuesday,  October 4th, 2011- This is an optional conditioning, but is recommended if you are not participating in a fall sport. Conditioning will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30-5:45 in the Davidson wrestling room.

 Physical forms and Emergency Medical Forms  MUST be completed and turned in prior to participating (including the first day of practice/tryouts) NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!
