LADY PANTHER VOLLEYBALL GENERAL INFORMATION

All student athletes involved in the Hilliard Darby Girls’ Volleyball program are expected to behave in a manner, which exhibits commitment, sportsmanship, pride, and class.  Your conduct in the gym, at school, and in the community will reflect the entire program; therefore, a twenty-four hour code of conduct will apply to ALL participants in the program.

EXPECTATIONS OF EVERY LADY PANTHER

1. Treat teammates and coaches with respect to maintain a positive atmosphere.  Negative talk is contagious; therefore, adhere to the GOLDEN RULE: treat others as you wish to be treated.

2. Playing volleyball is a privilege and you are a student first then athlete.  Act appropriately at home and in class.  Be respectful to your parents and siblings and to your teachers and coaches.  Disrespect will not be tolerated and may be punishable by removal from practices or games.

3. Players must attend every practice.  If you cannot attend practice, you must notify the coaches at least 24 hours in advance through a phone call or written note (delivered by athlete).  The coaches will determine if it counts as excused or unexcused.  Excused examples may include: absent from school, doctor’s appointment with note shown to coaches, injury with note from doctor/trainer shown to coaches, illness or death in the family or school activity.  Unexcused absences will be punishable by the following consequences:

One unexcused absence – forfeit one game

Two unexcused absences – forfeit two games

Three unexcused absences – forfeit one match

Four unexcused absences – removal from team

4. Team members will not use alcohol, tobacco, or abuse drugs.  Violations of this team and school rule will result in penalties stated in the Hilliard City Schools offense and a poor choice as a student athlete.  It is a great choice to avoid any situation, which involves others that are using.  Be careful about whom you associate with outside of the program.

5. You cannot help yourself or the program if you are ineligible.  All student athletes must meet the academic requirements stated by the  Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Hilliard Darby Athletic manual.

6. The coaching staff has final decision on anything that pertains to the volleyball program.  This may include playing time, expectations, rules, etc.  Parents/players are welcome to ask questions, but the staff makes final decision.
